Weekend of Jane Jacobs

In order to elevate community dialogue on urban design issues in the city, the City of Charleston's Design Division is organizing four events over four days to celebrate the work and life of Jane Jacobs on her birthday weekend (Thursday May 3rd- Sunday May 6th). Partner organizations, civic leaders, community stakeholders and urbanists will assist in the planning, organizing and leading of the events in various ways. All events are located, or will begin/end, at the Charleston Civic Design Center, which is located at 85 Calhoun Street.

All events are free and open to the public. We strongly encourage your participation in these civic engagements.
