WPAL / Stono Station Park

The City of Charleston is working with nearby residents, political leaders, and other stakeholders to establish a simple design concept for a public park at the end of Wappoo Road. The design vision below has been established by a Stakeholder Advisory Committee, but additional public input is needed to move the project forward. Please attend the public input session on Thursday, February 28 from 4-8 pm to learn more about the vision and contribute to the project.

Stakeholder Design Vision

The stakeholder approved vision for the site involves a simple walkway, very small parking area, and improvements and expansion of the boardwalk. Additional ideas for the site include a kayak launch and some areas to access the shore. Stakeholders agree the site should be passive, calm, quiet, and simple. You can download the stakeholder vision presentation by Design Division here.
