WPAL / Stono Station Park

The City of Charleston is working with nearby residents, political leaders, and other stakeholders to establish a simple design concept for a public park at the end of Wappoo Road. The design vision below has been established by a Stakeholder Advisory Committee.

Stakeholder Design Vision

The stakeholder approved vision for the site involves a simple walkway, very small parking area, and improvements and expansion of the boardwalk. Additional ideas for the site include a kayak launch and some areas to access the shore. Stakeholders agree the site should be passive, calm, quiet, and simple.
